Scan Reveal
Same camera. One photo tells a story, one takes a measurement.
A progress pic and a scan photo look like the same act. They share nothing but the camera.
The short version
- Progress pics are theatre
- Scan photos are lab conditions
- One output is a feeling
- Keep both. Confuse neither.
Progress pics are theatre
Best light, best angle, best pump — chosen by a human hoping for a result. Honest theatre, but theatre: the point is to look good.
Scan photos are lab conditions
Same stance, same distance, plain light, no flexing. Deliberately unflattering — because the point is to be comparable, not likeable.
One output is a feeling
A photo comparison ends in an opinion — 'I think I look leaner?' A scan ends in numbers you can lay on a chart and check against last month.
Keep both. Confuse neither.
Post the progress pic — celebration matters. Just don't ask it to do measurement's job, and never let a bad photo day read as a bad body day.
